About Us

Greek wine has been around for very very very long. And, the time frame is constantly moving, further and further away. In 2017 the archaeologists found evidence that wine making in Greece has been a de facto for more than 6.000 years BC, and, it is being discussed, did the Greeks make wine first or as early as or parallel with the Georgians...
The Greek wine history and traditions have been through endless turbulent ups and downs following the ancient times, wars and crises, but, is the last many decades writing a new history with a regained pride, self confidence, know-how, specialization and exploration of the country’s hundreds of indigenous grape varieties thriving in the mountain heights, in the volcanic soils, at the sea in the sun in the strong wind and with minimal rain… all factors catering for a setting of true, authentic wines that all wine-lovers should have the chance exploring.
For a long time, there has been a standstill regarding our knowledge of the Greek wine in Scandinavia. And, it's not the Greeks, who don't follow suit. The Greek wine is already very well represented in many restaurants, wine bars and specialty shops eg. in NYC, Tokyo, Paris and London. Our mission is to change the negative perception of Greek wines in Denmark and Sweden and bring them to light at the same level as the more well-known wine-producing neighboring countries of the Mediterranean.
Oinofilia is a special wine import with modern green Greek wine as specialty established in December 2012 by undersigned. I (half Greek, half Danish) have a background in intercultural communication, marketing and sales from Asia, US and, latest, with 9 years of work-live experience in Greece. Futhermore, I am a student of WSET London, pt. working on level 3.
Inspired by the exciting new of Modern Greek wine on location, by the best of sommeliers of the bustling new wine scene of 2010 and 2011, I decided to leave Athens behind to resettle in Copenhagen in order to import, represent and sell wine from the smaller to medium-sized wineries, all of which have a green (organic or biodynamic) philosophy, unique terroir, grape specialization and history and tradition in common.
As an assurance of quality it is a prerequisite for Oinofilia, prior to import - and a collaboration - personally visiting the winery, getting to know the winemaker, tasting the wine, learning about its green wine production methods and meeting its terroir. Thus, I dedicate much time studying, traveling for and finding wines from around in Greece.
Oinofiia's portfolio of Greek wines has not previously been imported to, or presented in, Denmark and Sweden. And, unlike others in the business, all wines are imported directly by Oinofilia. No middlemen or mediators are involved in the process as to insure you get the wine at a fair price and straight from the winery.
Our presence in Sweden has been ongoing in different forms since 2016. But, finally, going through the final phases, settling an own company, Oinofilia AB. This means, our full portfolio exclusively can be obtained B2B in Sweden in the nearby future. We estimate it will happen in the Spring of 2023, but, will post news on this when fully ready to launch.Â
Today you can meet our wines at some of our finest restaurants, nicest bistros, authentic wine bars and specialty shops in Denmark and Sweden.Â
Are you a sommelier, working in the restaurant industry, running a wine bar or wine shop and want to know more about our portfolio? Always call or write us for more information.
I hope you with Oinofilia will open the window a little, taste the exciting wines from our hand-picked portfolio from the dedicated green Greek wineries.
