The ancient region of Macedonia in northern Greece is dominated by large mountain ranges and a colder climate than the more southern regions. The wines and wineries of Macedonia span from the most traditional and celebrated productions, not changed for generations, to more experimental ones that take advantage of the minerality and high acidity the cold mountains afford.
